Daily novelty train rides and group tours at the Dunedin Botanic Garden.
Daily rides at the Dunedin Botanic Garden
Rides start outside the café. Purchase tickets at the train; when there are passengers aboard, the ride begins. Rides are subject to weather and the availability of volunteer drivers.
Summer, November to April: 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, daily.
Winter, May to October: 11:00 am to 2:30 pm, Saturday, Sunday and some weekdays.
Public and school holidays: daily.
No service on Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Bluebell, the train
Bluebell takes a leisurely 10–15 minute circuit around the Lower Garden, with commentary or music available. CREST can help elderly or disabled passengers aboard and can take two wheelchairs.

Group tours
Group bookings are welcome through the week for rest homes, preschools, schools and garden groups. Tours need to be booked at least two weeks in advance and can be tailored to your needs.
The train has a capacity of 20, or 16 plus 2 wheelchairs. Multiple trips can be made for larger groups. For bookings, please provide your details on the Contact Us page.
